A merchant may choose to electronically link his IT system to pre-approved suppliers or vendors, so that when stock inventory runs low, this Order Management System automatically prepares a purchase order and submits to the supplier. This link is usually connected over the internet, via secured communication protocols. Such automated work flow results in less manual interventions and faster stock replenishment to meet customer demands.
