POS Pinpad
A POS Pinpad is used in some instances of credit/debit/smartcard transaction. It is a device used for customer to enter his security PIN, which is then encrypted before it is sent to the transaction manager at the bank. The encrypted PIN is erased once it is sent out.
POS Pinpads must be approved to the standards required by the payment card industry (PCI) to ensure that they provide adequate security at the point of PIN entry and for the PIN encryption process.
