POS Database

The POS Database provides the information store that is crucial to POS system operation.  Multiple POS terminal devices are connected to this common central database so that all operational and financial information is kept updated.  Business reports will draw information from this database for financial analysis and decision making.

Some POS System Software use their own internal database.  They also can use third party database applications like MySQL, Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL.
